Anquet Mapping

Hi Andy,

Any idea what the pricing is likely to be? The Memory Map ones are £80 for the Scottish maps without
ariel photos.

Of course, just as relevant is the pricing is the coverage of these maps. For £80 do I just get the
equivalent of one paper OS map? Five maps? Ten maps?

£80 for what? Is the 25000 series available for Scotland now?

I know the aerial photos are not available because they were never taken. Only England, not Scotland

I thought they might have included a price in the reply to my e-mail. I have sent them another to
see if they have set a price and to see if they have any additional features such as the 3D
mapping. The Memory Map software includes the ability to do this as well as view aerial
photgraphy in 3D.

I've got MM Navigator. Where's the 3D mapping?

Pardon? I've seen aerial photos of parts of Wales. South Wales including Beacons and also Snowdon.

OK I stand corrected. I'm getting confused with adverts in the radio times etc which offer aerial
maps of "your location" and exclude Scotland and Wales in the adverts.

Anyway Scotland is definitely not done. :-(

We anticipate that the products will be priced at £80.00. There will be additional functionality but
I am adraid it is presently under wraps. We think our existing users will be pleased with the new

The 5210's going fine thanks. It got a little wet at the weekend as I was out on the bike in the
rain when somebody called me (forgot to turn it off!!). I took the cover off when I got home but
nothing was wet inside. Seems the case is a better than the usual standard of phone covers. A bit OT
this but have you got the new SE phone yet? (was it the P900?).

No, not sure what to do phone wise so bought a Geko 301 instead! I did end up with a bundle of
T68i's thanks to Orange so once I've shifted them, I'll see what's cheap.

From what I've read it's only Scotland that doesn't have aerial photographs.

There are aerial photos available of Wales - even my area, which is hardly what you'd call a major
conurbation.

Explorer 1:25,000 Series

This series comes with both 1:25,000 scale Ordnance Survey maps, and also 1:25,000 scale GetMapping
aerial photos. Targeted at the outdoor leisure market these maps cover the following areas in
England and Wales at £99.00 each:

Lake District Snowdonia Yorkshire Dales North York Moors Peak District Northumberland New Forest &
South Downs Dartmoor & Exmoor Cotswolds Brecon Beacons & Pembrokeshire

The Explorer series is also available in Scotland, but this package excludes the aerial photos and
is priced at £79.95. The available areas are:

North Highlands and Skye South Highlands Ben Nevis and Glen Coe The Cairngorms Loch Rannoch and
Loch Lomond

Not exactly cheap at £99 for each area. Three Explorer maps cover Snowdonia for roughly £21 and
four maps cover the Beacons and Pembrokeshire for just £28. I suppose the aerial maps and 3D are
their justification for the prices. However, they may be so useful that they're worth getting in
spite of the cost.

I'm not sure the whole of Wales is, but the south definitely is.
