Can anyone give me an update on the stone fall in Lords Rake, on Scafell, and whether it is safe. I
haven't heard anything of it since last year. I am going to the Lakes next week, and if safe would
be ascending this route.

through to Wasdaleweb. I would go by Foxes tarn instead unless you can rockclimb Broad Stand, but at
the end of the day its your call.

I won't be doing the Rake any time soon.
BTW Broad Stand is a bit iffy, but really not that bad.

I think "a bit iffy" needs some definition. It isn't too bad in rockclimbing terms. In the dry, it
isn't too bad in scrambling terms (and very short). However, a slip would take you a long way down.
You don't need lots of rockclimbing gear, or expertese, but a rope is very definitely a good idea.
I once held a friend (who was a climber) on a body belay here - he slipped in the wet. He was a
little shaken!M.
