Friday night saw me back in the Ling hut, Torridon, for the first time in thirty years. Lovely to sit reading old 'Climbers' by gas light. Saturday dawned gloriously. Most of our party headed up Liathach, but Ian and I went for Maol Chean dearg. Lovely well graded stalkers path took us from Annat up round Loch an Eion past the south side of our Munro. We then went straight up the south east ridge which gave us the occasional wee scramble. The view from the summit stunning. We descended down the path to the bealach before Meall nan Ceapairean (which has very interesting looking cliffs) and then followed the stalkers path back to the car and the Beinn Damph Bar. Amazingly the rest of our group arrived in the bar within thirty seconds of us. A pleasant night spent in the Ling hut drinking wine and rediscovering the art of conversation, no TVs, radios or other distractions. Sunday Stuart, Ian and I went up Fionn Bheinn the most southerly of the Fannichs. A rather uninteresting grassy slope to the summit, but views to die for the Fisherfield Forest being particularly clear. Back to the car in an hour and a half and in Fife four hours later. Lovely fairly easy weekend. Two more Munros to the list.

Sorry to take so long to reply, my original answer seems to have disappeared into the ether. I have now done 222 Munros. I reckon the other 62 will take me the best part of three years. Lots of the ones I have left to do are in really interesting areas like Mullardoch and south of Strathcarron not to mention the Deargs. I am in no hurry to finish, just enjoying myself when I do get away from work and family commitments.
