Hi All, Seems my old backpacking Karrimor rucksack is finally falling to bits. After 15 years service, I think it's probably time to retire it and get a new one. A quick look at the field and trek website revealed the 'Karrimor Jaguar', which looks like it's got plenty of capacity and is a tasteful shade of green unlike some of the multi-coloured monstrousities I've seen (from serveral miles distant) on the hills!. Has anybody had any experience with this ruckack, or has anybody any other recommendations?. Are there any particular features I should be looking for? - apart from the obvious size and comfort factors?.
I've got a Berghaus which has good capacity but weighs quite a bit when empty(worth considering). Also have a (smaller) Karrimor which has a built in cover in a pocket on the top - which I find very handy. It also has a small neoprene insert inside which is great as a little seat. I remember scoffing at the idea a few yrs ago but am something of a convert to sitting on something warm/comfortable in preference to cold/wet/rough stone. In fact I cannibalised an old carry-mat so I also have a seat when out with the heavy duty Berghaus pack as well. Yours slighty digressingly.
