Among the hits in Google was a theft report from an article in 1995 at the University of Arizona,
containing "The white Trek Antelope 800 mountain bike has green letters and a white rear rack and
water bottle holder. The value is $225"

Sometime in the late '80s I helped my parents pick out a pair of "antelopes" from Trek. The number
was lower, though, somewhere around 630, IIRC. Low(er)-to-medium priced mountain bikes, they were. I
seem to recall that several Trek models were called "antelopes" for a while there.

At one time, TREK gave bikes both style names and numbers. The "Antelope" designation was given to
their less-expensive imported mountain bikes (which included the 800 & 820 and, for a bit, the 830,
although the 830 was originally a domestic model). The domestic bikes carried the "Singletrack"
designation and included the 920, 930, 950, 970 and 990 models.

You may be losing your mind and going crazy, but not because you saw a TREK Antelope.

Import . The "Antelope" designation appeared on imported 800, 820, 830 for several years, eighties
through early nineties. The neon is the giveaway clue, since we know there were no Treks for the 60s
iteration.

Does anyone know what direction I should head towards to find a picture of this model? Or does
anyone have one? Let me know.. Also can someone tell me how to decode the serial numbers for this
model? Vintage-trek.com didnt help much.Thanks.
