Wind chills here were in the minus teens!

Dressed like a fully gorged tick complete with ski mask, ski helmet, and googles, I only made it 1
mile to the local Starbucks were I had to pay 3 bucks for a cup of burnt coffee so I could make it
back home.

Oh! I can¹t wait til April.

I don't have enough layers. I freeze at anything under 32 f no matter what I wear. My feet
especially suffer.

My personal recipe for keeping warm in the cold includes: let some air out of your tires to increase
the rolling resistance; quit lubing the drivetrain; and carry around an extra 30 lbs of fat. Then
even a short ride quickly generates enough heat to keep warm. I have no sympathy for you skinny guys
on well-tuned bikes who complain about the cold. ;-)

My thumbs do get cold these days, though. As soon as it gets up to 10F, I'm going for a little ride,
just to fend off the cabin-fever. Most parts of me will be covered by 3-4 layers.

"little ride" = no where near 10 miles.

If your feet are cold, all I've found that works is a very warm hat. Either a pile hat (or hat liner
under the helmet) is necessary when it drops under 32F (IMO) and the feet don't seem to suffer at
all. Hands, however, are a different story. Good gloves aer a must, but even them, sometimes I have
to wear a liner layer beneath them. I also need to wash them often as they reek after a couple of
days of hard riding.
