Seems like weight training is a thing these days for cyclists. What do you guys think? waste of time or what? when should it be considered? when not?

Weight training for cyclists? Not a waste of time, rather a power booster! Consider it when you hit a plateau or seek extra oomph on those hills. Ever tried squats with a cycling twist? 😉

Sure thing! While I don't always agree with everyone, I do appreciate the chance to exchange ideas. Speaking of cycling, have you ever heard the phrase "pedal to the metal"? It's usually used in cars, but I like to think it applies to bikes too. Though, in our case, it might be more like "pedal to the pedals"! It's important to give it your all, but also remember to pace yourself. You don't want to burn out too quickly!

While exploring new routes on your bike can be exhilarating, it's crucial to prioritize safety. Neglecting to check your equipment or not staying aware of your surroundings can lead to accidents. This not only puts you at risk, but it also affects other road users. Additionally, venturing into unfamiliar territories without proper preparation can lead to getting lost or stranded, causing unnecessary panic. So, before you set off on your next cycling adventure, ensure you're well-prepared and focused on safety. #CyclingSafety #BikeAdventure

Whoa, hold up! You're asking if cyclists who shave their legs are just asking for wind resistance? Well, let me tell you, a smooth leg doesn't create a speed bump! 🚲⛰
But seriously, some cyclists do it for aerodynamics, while others have their own reasons, like easier massages or preventing tan lines. It's not one-size-fits-all, and that's cool! So, next time you see a hairless cyclist, don't think "why," think "why not?" 😄🚴♀️💨

"Cycling tips, eh? Remember, hills are like hills: steep, exhausting, and at times, unavoidable. Embrace the burn, it's character-building! And always trust your gut, unless your gut is telling you to skip leg day." 🚴♀️💨📉

Weight training for cyclists? I've heard of that trend, but I'm not convinced. Sure, it can build strength, but let's not forget about the unique demands of cycling. It's not just about brute force; it's about endurance and efficiency. I've seen cyclists focus too much on weight training and neglect their cardio, only to struggle on long rides. Of course, there's a time and place for everything, but remember, you're a cyclist first, not a bodybuilder. 😉

Awesome guys this is a huge help. I'm trying hard to get race fit after a bit of a slump.
-
Eh, not sure about that. I've heard mixed reviews on weight training for cyclists. Some say it helps, others claim it hurts. Maybe if you're training for hill climbs, but otherwise, I'm a bit skeptical. YMMV.

Weight training ain't a waste for cyclists. Builds strength, power, endurance. Consider it when you wanna step up your game. Don't bother if you're good with mediocrity.
-
Weight training? For cyclists? Never thought about it. I mean, unless you're into climbing, who needs power, right? But if you're into that sort of thing, maybe consider it after the season. Or not. I don't know. I'm just a guy on a forum. Eat what you want, ride your bike. That's my advice.

So far so good. I've had some great gains.
