  1. I am involved in a project where I use a contractor. He bids on the job. He tells me his sad story
about his costs to justify what he charges. I tell him I do not care what he does or how he does it
or how much money he makes. I either accept or reject his bid.

On health care I do not have this option. In ]fact the people in health care will not tell me the
cost in advance. Use it or suffer or die.

The first is free enterprise working,

What is the later? It "AIN'T" free enterprise that I hear so much about. It NEEDs some
    external control.
. If a person is looking for no controls, there are thousands of occupations they should select.
Maybe they should pay for the freebie education they received first. :-))

The last time I heard, there were such things as aitlines, buses, and exen taxis that went
to Canada and to Mexico. Both have much lower health care costs than the US. (Just not as
much, of course). There are also areas of the US where health care costs less. If you
don't like the prices where you are, pick up your feet and put them down until you are
    somewhere else.

    Speaking only for myself,

Joe, I see no need to run somewhere else. We need to correct the situation here. I contributed for
over 50 years and fell it is my right to live here and no throw up a white flag. Don't matter much
to me anyway. Just that "fair to all" mentality keep coming to the surface.

I get offended by the blurbs that we are so great when see overt attempts at economic slavery. My
medical care has not been that great here in certain "big shot" facilities but their TV spots are
    wonderful. Guy

  4. I fully agree with you Guy - again. Here in Australia our health system is also being increasingly
affected by this new "economic rationalism". Running away somewhere else - even if you are capable
to do so - is only a short-term solution. Yes, we should speak out, but I fear we are fighting a
losing battle... I was hoping for a turnaround, but it hasn't come. It's getting worse.
