  1. I've been thinking about my weight.. I'm very skinny.. I am 5'11" and only weigh 107lbs at 26yrs of
age. That's way too skinny, but I have always weighed around 110-115. I have a chronic lung disease,
yet I doubt that would cause such low weight. I've always been a slower eater and resist eating more
when I feel full.. as well as eaten less calories (but I've only started counting them about a year
ago). I'm a highly intelligent person, but I am a bit on the slow side when it comes to moving
around, eating, thinking, etc.. I wonder if my weight is involved with whatever is making me slow in
those areas. I've looked at hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and neither seem to fit (but I'm no
doctor). I also have chronically low blood pressure which the doctors (I've seen many over my life)
don't seem too concerned about. It is because I queried about shakiness and it going away after
eating, that I went in for the GTT and discovered reactive hypoglycemia. I've had a very high
carbohydrate diet since I was old enough to cook all my own meals and was required to do so (maybe
since about 16).. could that be the reason that caused my hypoglycemia (other than whatever genetic
influences there are--aunt died from the complications)?

  2. Hope you don't have an eating disorder. They are apparently very
difficult to treat. Here's an article about low carbs and hypo: "Hays
is heartened by the diet's positive results with two other groups of
patients who were tracked for longer periods of time. They included
women with polycystic ovary syndrome, a hormonal condition, and people
with reactive hypoglycemia, whose blood sugar drops after a meal. Those
with polycystic ovary syndrome lost 14.3 percent of their total body
weight over 24 weeks. Reactive hypoglycemia patients dropped 19.9
percent of total body weight over a year. Neither group showed any
significant change in blood-fat levels, Hays says."
