    Ive been doing some research on rack systems for touring bikes, and Ive noticed a lot of debate about whether durability or weight is more important. Im curious to hear what you all think about this.

    On one hand, it seems like durability should be the top priority. After all, these racks are going to be carrying a lot of weight, and they need to be able to withstand the wear and tear of long-distance touring. A sturdy rack is less likely to break or fail, which could be disastrous if youre in the middle of nowhere.

    On the other hand, weight is definitely a factor to consider. The heavier the rack, the more its going to slow you down and make climbing hills more difficult. And lets be real, no one wants to add unnecessary weight to their bike.

    So, what do you all think? Is it better to prioritize durability or weight when it comes to rack systems for touring bikes?

    Personally, Im leaning towards durability. Id rather have a rack thats going to last me for years and can handle whatever I throw at it, even if its a little heavier. But Im open to being convinced otherwise.
