I had the same edema of the feet. My doctor add spironolactone 25mg once a day. It treats edema in
another way. I was able to reduce the Lasik to 20 mg. It solved my problem. PJ

I also take 2000 mg glucophage, 12 mg prandin, 400 mg celebrex, 10 mg norvasc, 40 mg pravachol, and
81 mg aspirin.

Lasix (generic: furosemide) is a standard diuretic, but at higher doses there is the risk of
excessive electrolyte loss, especially potassium. Potassium helps regulate heart beats, and an
imbalance too high or too low can be dangerous. Aldactone (generic: spironolactone) is known as a
potassium sparing diuretic. Sometimes they are a good counter balance to each other. I take 40 mg of
furosemide and 50 mg of spironolactone twice daily. Sometimes some of the blood pressure meds,
especially calcium channel blockers, can cause some edema on their own. I have not run into alpha
blockers like terazosin before, but edema in the ankles is mentioned as a possible side effect.
