    Diabetics are prone to slow healing and problems with blood vessels (called angiopathy, especially
    present in the eyes, kidneys, and extremities) and nerve damage (called neuropathy). Under poor
    control, we heal a lot more slowly as well, and the frequent urination makes controlling fluid
    levels more awkward.

    So no, being diabetic doesn't help.
