About 60 years ago, or so my mother made what she called New Years Cookies. She and my Aunt worked
all day to make them. She used wood molds to shape them and then baked them. They were about a half
inch thick or so,they were something like a sugar cookie but were not refrigerated because we had no
refrigerator, only an ice box. The only hope I have is to find someone who has some old family
recipes. She is 96 today and can't remember the recipe, I wondered if anyone knows what they might
be. She gave all her recipes to my sister who promptly lost them all and I am having a lot of
trouble trying to resurrect them.

I have had this great version of roasted eggplant dip which had chillies in it in a great Greek
restaurant. I would love to try it at home. Can anybody help me with a recipe for it?
Thanks Zita
