    Breakfast Mush

    2-1/4 cups water
    1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
    2/8 cup brown rice
3/4 cup coarse corn meal (polenta)
    4/4 cup wheat bran
    5/2 cup thick oats
6/8 cup toasted buckwheat 1 tsp black strap molasses 2 Tbsp honey 1 tsp powdered ginger 1-1/4
    tsp cinnamon
7/8 tsp sea salt 2 Tbsp soy protein powder 1 tsp vanilla extract
8/2 cup of fresh blueberries maple syrup

In a medium-sized sauce pan: Overnight: soak rice in sea salted water. Morning: Bring same water to
a boil. Add corn meal, oats, bran, molasses, honey, ginger, cinnamon. Reduce heat and simmer covered
for 10 minutes; then add buckwheat, soy milk and protein powder. Return to a easy boil and cook
uncovered over medium heat, stirring regularly, for 5-10 more minutes or until desired consistancy.
Remove from heat, transfer to a large bowl and stir in vanilla and berries. Top with maple syrup if
    you have a sweet tooth.

    My Farm Hot Breakfast Cereal

3 cups Scottish cut oats 3 cups cracked rye 1 1/2 cup oat bran 1 cup soya flakes
    9/2 cup buckwheat groats
    10/2 cup dried currants
11/4 cup sunflower seeds 2 Tbsp. flax

Combine all these ingredients and keep in a big jar. To prepare, use 3 parts water to one part
cereal. Boil water, add cereal, reduce heat, cover and cook over very low hear for 15 to 2o minutes.
It's not a quick breakfast, but it doesn't require much attention so you can do other things while
it cooks. Stir it once in a while until to keep it from sticking. There are many ways to prepare
this porrige. Sometimes we chop an apple into it and add a sprinkle of cinnamon. Sometimes we throw
a few handfuls of frozen cranberries or blueberries in while it's cooking. Adding a chopped banana
after it has cooked is also pretty tasty. >From [email hidden]

    Whole Grain Breakfast Cereal

    4 servings

1 cup Whole wheat berries 1 cup Whole rye berries 1 cup Whole triticale 1 cup Whole barley 1 cup
Brown rice 1 cup Buckwheat groats 1 cup Millet 1 cup Sesame seeds 1 cup Flaxseed 1 cup Lentils 10
    cup Oat groats

I mix it up, then cook a pot of it by measuring 2 cups of cereal to 5 cups of water, bringing it to
boil, & then letting it sit over night. Then I have a bowlful each morning, heated in the microwave
until the cooked cereal is gone and I need to make more. Or you could do the same with a smaller
amount, for one serving, say, try 1/4 cup of cereal. It's very chewy and satisfying. And of course
lots of whole grains. Sometimes I just use oatmeal instead of oat groats, since they are difficult
to find and I like the consistency that oatmeal adds. In the book he has a little paragraph about
each grain, explaining what vitamins/minerals it has & what it's good for. Shared by Zoe From

    Winter Morning Cereal

    12/3 cups steel cut oats
    13/3 cup pearl barley
    14/2 cup (?) raisins
15/3 cup date pieces dash or three of cinnamon 3 cups water 1 cup low fat soy milk

The night before, put grains and cinnamon in a large microwave casserole or pot for the stove pot,
add water, cover and let set overnight. In the am, add the dried fruit and the soy milk and
microwave on high for about 6
    - 7 minutes, watch, it boils over easily. Let stands a few minutes (while you shower, do your hair,
etc., nuke again for 5 minutes on 50% power (get dressed). Let stand a couple minutes. serve and
eat. Or, bring to a simmer on the stove, reduce to a bare simmer and stir occasionally for 10
minutes or so. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Serves two really big
breakfast eaters or 3 - 4 nibblers. If you like it sweeter, use vanilla soy milk and/or add a
dollop of maple syrup or molasses. This is also really good with dried apricots or with fresh
    chopped apples, go crazy!
