any suggestions on how to best commit stuff to memory?? i'm okay (mostly) with the names of the muscles. what's getting me bogged down are the origins, instertions and actions!! heck, we've only done the shoulder girdle and arms!! =:o well, we covered the back, too ... 😉
anyway, school is awesome!! there is just so much to learn!! we finish our first trimester this coming thursday, which is amazing!!
Besides the names, there's the all-important integration into a properly functioning body. I remember very well a test I had during my student days. The teacher walked in, walked over to his desk, leaned down to get an apple, took a bite and chewed and swallowed as we watched, rather perplexed. He then told us to identify the muscles that had been used. Four test booklets later, the two-hour alarm sounded. Just wanted to remind you how important the function and action is.

Sounds like you and I are in similar areas re: progression through school. What's getting me now along with your questions here is the SOAP notes. I got the general idea of it and am working on my father for my "case study" for class. We are doing shoulder girdle stuff at the moment. But taking that information from initial intake form to the SOAP format and putting it how the instructor wants including the little squigglies and symbols and shorthand is a bit of a challenge.. almost a foreign language! I'd like to know seriously if there are any good books that are SOLELY for MTs regarding SOAP notes or any way I can practice this stuff again and again until it becomes second nature. This too shall pass right? lol
Have a great weekend! (I'm getting back to da books!)

My wife, who survived anotomy with a bad teacher who liked trick questions and testing on things that weren't ever covered in class, suggests that you get the anatomy coloring book and make copies of all the pages and color them over and over again. Repetition is the key to that game sounds like.
Pictures are worth a thousand words, in my industry software development I often draw pictures of what a piece of code does in order to help others understand what I'm thinking.
Best of luck
Regards.
