The event is over now. Things went very well for all of us. Been learning massage and
anatomy/physiology, DT, PIMR, Positional release, several fascia release techniques, alternative
medicine classes, stress management classes, yoga classes, healthy lifestyles, Polarity Therapy..
all part of the program where I'm attending school for Massage Therapy. .. was merely looking for a
good and simple flow as it pertained to the Health Fair at a local church with people passing by
wanting to experience a few minutes of chair massage.. and needed it for the weekend.. Thanks
though! :-) Your advice is sound. I appreciate that part of it. But there are no techniques in your
post. Which is what I was seeking. The environment was such that merely something simple.. a flow of
techniques as Chris gave me, sufficed very well and then I added to it as I saw fit based ONLY on
what I've learned this far.. I'm not a maverick or daredevil with massage.. but I will try new
things within the scope of my training.
Sorry you misunderstood. But appreciative of the unsolicited advice. :-) I have a fairly good grasp
of the anatomy now into my second year of school, going full time. But.. I'm never through
learning. Never assume that because I wanted a simple answer to a simple question that I'm
uneducated or simple-minded or lacking in a more in depth knowledge. If I pose a question in such a
way as I did.. don't read so much into it. I merely wanted a simple flow for some chair massage
techniques. Chris quickly and succinctly answered it to what I needed and I looked up my materials
from prior classes I've taken and together with my Polarity Training and talking with my Polarity
Instructor.. we put together a flow including energy/massage work.. it was an awesome experience..
nothing WRONG with it . was able to construct a nice flow and the weekend was FABULOUS and all
clients were very happy campers indeed! So the time spent in community service satisfied the core
curriculum. Not necessarily the modality. Just so happened that THAT event was chair massage. There
were other students doing sports massage at a local run held over the weekend. They've had sports
and further training than I, so they could do that. I'd not attempt something I've not been trained
in.. but was merely looking for a quick rundown of some easy techniques and flow.. an impromptu
refresher. God Bless, MJ

Fascia.. No oil needed.. Stretch.. T.P's & Hydrotherapy. In answer to your question.. Learn..
Seated chair Massage is very Sports related, if you do not have a good grasp of the anatomy
involved you may affect the nerves that innervate.. Please be carefull & Study Well!! "Ben &
