  1. It seems a rather popular belief that the lower the cholestrol level is, the less the weight of a
person gets, the healthier the person becomes.

Being a bit of a devil's advocate, I would like to find out what are the possible negative results
that are associated with the cholestrol and weight levels being aggressively lowered.

I'm not sure about cholesterol. On weight, that is sometimes called Anorexia. And people could,
conceivably do significant damage to themselves.

    That belief would be erroneous.

"Ideal" weight is associated with better health and better lipid profiles.

There are no negative results from obtaining and maintaining "ideal" body weight.

Perhaps but the first two parameters don't always sum to better health

Your catch word is "belief." That "belief" was, no doubt, instilled by people who stand to make a
lot of money by instilling it, as far as cholesterol goes. You are on the right track by asking
questions. Here are some links to get you started. Please remember, I have been at this for about
three years and not one health care professional could establish anything erroneous within the
material in the links. Learn, discuss, be free.

Do inform yourself and discuss it with doctors, relatives, and friends. That may help *them* to get
    cholesterol science right.

BTW is (Siak Hua) John Koo still in Hong Kong?

Anorexia Nervosa leads to half "ideal" body weight. It typically (exclusively) afflicts educated
young women. It is more a psychological condition (eating disorder) than a physiological one.

I have no idea of John Koo but when it comes to cholestrol, I would say that everything has to be
taken in moderation. The latter, in my view, is the key. I am taking vitamin E daily and that helps
my the blood vessels. But i did notice some adverse effects to my body and mind when i was making a
deliberate attempt to avoid highly cholestrated food. Thus in my post "how to cut?", I in a sense
questioned into the idea of being frightened by cholestrol and all that attempt to control it by
taking life long pills. I think people should eat practically everything but less of them.
