I doublt if a thong is worn in competition. They may be worn in Europe where people are less hung up
about their bodies. I understand most men wear speedos in Europe where here in the states they are
not worn (at least these days) outside of swim meets.

I've heard it has been used as a liner or athletic supporter underneath brief suits, jammers, and
training suits.

They are also good for suits that are somewhat transparent.

I have several Speedo thongs and several thongs from Skinzwear, the smallest the Cutaway banded
thong. I wear these to the local lap pool in Santa Cruz. I've been swimming in them for about 2
years without any problems. I'm very comfortable in them. I've also gotten several nice comments
from women about my thongs/g-strings.

Go with what you feel comfortable with.
