  1. Hi people...

We are developing a software solution for hospitals around the globe for better integration of
databases, quick information retrieval about symptoms and diseases, empowering the hospitals with
technology that could manage the critical patients and critical times more efficiently and more
fruitfully. In our proposed solution , the doctors would be provided with PDAs and Smartphones so
that they can quickly interact and exchange information with each other, talk to other doctors for
handling critical patients, retrieve their medical history, blood pressure etc. It also involves
contacting villages around the globe and extracting information about them to know about their area,
environment, types of prevailing diseases etc.. And a lot more technical stuff involved.....

So, all I need from you is ADVICE...please come up with your ideas..as to what the hospital systems
need today...what are the problems faced by patients, what are the problems faced by the doctors,
the nurses today ? What are the causes for untimely or inefficient treatment of patients at critical
times ? What are the things that we often think to have (" Ah..perhaps we could have something like
that..."😉 in the hospital systems today. What are the causes for the inefficiencies or flaws or time
taking chores in hospitals today ? If we dont see much problems in the systems today...what are
things that could make the systems better...what are the features that we can include in hospital
patient management, prescriptions management, information retrieva systems etc.

Patients, doctors, nurses, general public....everybody is invited to come up with any ideas they
have in mind...any weird idea or anything that comes to your mind...please do post it here...this is
a very big project involving a couple of different technologies...but the most important thing is to
get advice and suggestions from people actually present in the system...

So please come up with your views......you can also email at the address given...

We'll eagerly wait for your valuable inputs...

    Regards Anupam

  2. Hi, Anupam!

I am a surgeon in China.I have dreamed of an useful Hospital Infomation System for a long time. But
these IT guys in China are so foolish that they can not creat one that satisfied me.

On my opion,if you want to make a great software, you must prepare for the vast work it need. The
    soft must:
    1.compatibale with exist HIS database;
2.can seamlessly exchange with known database format, like Excel,Accesss,Dbase,Oracle, etc.
3.have a network inerface,so I can get what I want anywhere I can visit the web.
4.high level of security, graded password protection and access rights limit.
5.like an OS,it must be able to recognize all the data format produced by any medical instrument all
over the world. needless to say, handle these data fluently.

  3. Hi Harmlet

    Thanks for your ideas !

Regarding compatibility, yes our system would be having a common platform for all devices and
softwares. So it can talk to the current databases as well with the same ease. So all the PDA's
    and desktop
s/ws will be running on a common platform...and will be able to handle all types of third party
files (atleast which are popular or near to popular) without any hassle. If the system finds any
format or file it can't handle, the info shall immediately be transferred through the internet and
the system shall be updated accordingly ! Regarding network interface, yes it will definitely have
one...with individual priveleges to doctors, nurses, patients etc....while each of their
individual data is kept secure with their individual secure accounts..the data can be accessed
through internet WWW, intranets through PDAs or any smart device.

It would be nice to have other people to drop in their ideas too !

Let's make a better world together...

    Regards Anupam

  4. I think the new .net framework and also the .net compact framework from Microsoft will be very
useful in this project. The database files can be converted to xml and using asp.net you may be able
to have the pda with a wireless connections do what you have mentioned. A quick look into the .net
framework might be worth your while. Just my 2cents.

    Hope this helps, ramon.
