them. So I bought some new campy ones (C-Record, NOS, w/ball bearings.)

the parallelogram together. Then, shifting becomes flexy / sloppy.

On the older nuovo record derailleurs, new rivets/bushings could be bought and installed. And then
after these ones wore out, you could buy BIGGER ONES from campagnolo and install them again.

The spring can also get weak, so you might want to buy a spare.

It's little touches like these that allow you to put 100k miles on a campagnolo derailleur, long
after your dura ace parts have been relegated to the trash heap ...

I'm setting my bike up for riding the mountains in the Alps during the Tour. What I plan to do us
use an FSA compact crank with a 13/26 or more likely a
13/29. First I want to ride Wintergreen in Virginia to check out the misery index with the 13/26. I
would consider rebuilding the short cage derailleur so that I wouldn't have problems while
away if it would work with both corsets if that's a smart play.

Two questions: how do you remove the hollow "pins" of the Record rear deraileur? How long does a DA
rear last? Any data would be appreciated? By the way, how much is a carbon Record (vs. a DA)?

I find a derailleur regular sprayed with WD40 or GT85 (gets into the pivots and protects from salt)
will last indefinitely - or until it gets crashed. I had a nasty Huret one that went 10 years
without ever being dismantled and cleaned, and I have an old Deore DX one on the mountain bike that
I cleaned up at the weekend - it seems as good as new.

I am not impressed a bit.

There are quite a number of Nuovo Record deraillers still in use, from the early seventies.

By the way, I have noticed a few boxes full of Nuovo Record deraillers spare parts at a friendly
shop where they have no more use for them. If anyone is willing to purchase any, or all ... , he
should just ask in private mail to me.

What should I do with my record derailleur so that I won't have problems while out on a ride? I'm a
Campy person (friends don't let friends by Shimano {that should stir things us}) and bought the
