  1. Hi

I've created a new section that allows members to review any bike related product they want. I've added almost 200 products so far, i'll add more over the next few days. Goto http://www.cyclingforums.com/reviews/ to check out what i'm talking about.

Anyone is able to add whatever product they want, or review a currently list product.

To add a new product do the following:

    1) Goto http://www.cyclingforums.com/reviews/
    2) Navigate to the appropriate category for the product you want to review.
    3) Click the Upload Products link
    4) Fill out the required details (inc a photo and website address of the product you want reviewed)
    5) Once your product description is reviewed by cyclingforums.com it will be visible to other users.

    Now your done!

To post a product review do the following:

    1) Navigate to the product you want to write a review eg. http://www.cyclingforums.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=121&sort=7&cat=13&page=1
    2) Click the Post a Review link
    3) Fill out the required fields (be honest)
    4) Once your review is reviewed by cyclingforums.com it will be visible to other users.

The official support thread for this section can be found HERE

    thanks

It'll be a good resource once its got a lot of reviews in a few months. BTW you can't buy stuff there, so your CC is safe 🙂

    cheers

I'll try to do a few. I've certainly tried a heap of saddles! 😄

True, but there's still the "ooh, that sounds cool, I wanna try one" factor. 😉

  5. Hi Steve;
This sounds like a great idea but I have one request. I went to the bike section and saw nothing listed for touring bikes. Is it possible to start a section dedicated to these types of bikes?

Hi again Steve. Thank you very much for your help. I am afraid that I am going to have to ask for your help once again. I want to put the same information for touring bikes in the as someone has done for mountain bikes but I can't figure out how to import the information from manufacturers sites directly into the reviews section. In particular I am interested in reviews for the Trek 520, the Cannondale T800 and T2000 and any other popular touring bike. If it can be explained to me in some dummied down way I'd be willing to do it. Thanks again.

  8. The reviews section is a great idea and I've posted some, however may I suggest that the instructions on uploading and reviewing should also be at the top of the forum. The small number of reviews compared to the number of views suggests that people may not understand that they are welcome to post a review or upload a product.

    Hi there

When you view a product the 'Post a Review' link is abit hard to find if you don't already know where it is. Later today i'll see of I can make this link stand out abit more. Including the instructions is also a great idea.

    thanks
