Zey are German! Zey are usually good deals component wise around here. (Eu)
Specialized might be even a better deal over there (you are in the US of A right?).
But then again a 35000 eurozzz Mercedes is 20000 eurozzz over there and zey awe vewy, vewy Tzerman alzo!

Ah, you ment those ghost bikes. These are fuggin creepy... Especially the ones with the fresh flowers. Brrr.
I've heard of them before and it is a sort of nice idea as long as they don't obstruct other things.
You wouldn't be able to do that around these parts, sadly. Not because you're not allowed to, it's because the bike will be stolen within 24hours of putting it there.
I still have no idea what a ghost bike is. I'd have to travel to one of them just to see what all the fuss is about...

As far as I understand, at the roadside where someone has been killed whilst riding a bicycle, a white spray-painted bicycle is chained to something to mark the spot where the cyclist was killed, acting as a memorial to the fallen person.
