  1. I may be spending a 3 or 4 day weekend in Eugene in August, conventioning with my hubby. I"d love
to hit the Mackenzie trails or any other goodies - any one out there? I'd much rather bike than
    golf or shop.

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Off to ride Carrizo Gorge -- a unique rails-to-trails type route
that's being reopened to trains so most likely last chance...

Bill "if eveyone else is hung-over then maybe I'll keep up" S.

(oops, already did the sig thing.)

    Bill "doh!" S.

yeah, Blaine is Portland, that's still not real close to Eugene. (not a day trip is you do an all
day ride) I stayed up til a whopping 9:45 last night, woo-hoo. Off to ski cut up powder in the c-c-
cold today. Not hung over in the least. Penny

We are in Eugene. The MRT has some insane views/scenery, but it's soooo heavily traveled by hikers (and bikers) at that time of year it's kind of not fun to ride. Having said that it is a trail one should ride at least once (fall is best). You might do well to cruise around the Cottage Grove area. There's some excellent riding there. As was discussed a while ago the Oakridge area is loaded as well. What week are you going to (potentially) be here? August is a crazy time for me (at work), but if you don't mind riding with a slow clydesdale then I could potentially get a day set aside. The weekends are easy, but weekdays are difficult. Happy New Year.

I'm sure everyone on am-b is clamoring to ride with slanderous lying scumbags everywhere.

Only if you count all the slanderous lying sumbags. :-)

Most of the Oregonians here are from Portland and/or vicinity.

Be sure to ping me before you go. I might be up for a drive down to Eugene.
