Ahh, an invigorating ride through Sutton Park (Brummies officially regard this place as the countryside). Children were out on their new bike/trikes/pushalongs; The geese and ducks were skating on the frozen pond; Horses were laying out a mini slalom course marked with fresh steaming turds; and my lungs felt like they were about to implode every time I inhaled cold air.
My mom/dad/sister met me in Sutton town (they walked the same route) for a much needed hot coffee.
I picked up my copt of C+ and ProC then cycled back home.
One of my new year resolutions is to have a clearout of my bookshelf. So some bargain cycling books may be available soon!

A couple of years ago, one of my sons told me that his school were asking for old good condition magazines for their library. I realised that if the school library had a good stock of C+ and Cycle, it might, just might, induce an interest in the subject in some of our yoof.
I then had more ideas: Been to the Doc's or the Dentist recently? What sort of mags were piled up on that table in the middle of the waiting room? Good Housekeeping? Country Life? endless cager w**k mags? I have surepticiously added four or five cycle mags at both locations.

the nhs is always trying to persuade blokes to take more interest in their health yet whenever you go to the docs or hospital the provided waitiing room reading matter is all girls' stuff.
my old copies of c+ and arrive have tend to go to docs/dentists for the above reason; the reception at work 'cos i want more people to cycle [though at 16% i'm not doing too bad]; the barber's shop to balance the car mags. i've left a couple on trains in the past but can't quite convince myself this isn't littering.
