The dutch will be hard to beat. With Brazil losing naymar and silver, I think they have no chance against germany. It will be a germany vs netherlands final. If robin can do some good dives, the dutch should win.

only a day away from my heartbreak match. tipped the argentines to win it all, but have wanted the dutch to win their first for quite some time. time to plant the kiss of death on the dutch and hope they move on to the finals.

Holland and Germany have been the most consistent sides in this years tournament.

FIFA want an Argentina/Brazil final.

a bit cynical, no? i don't argue that fifa are corrupt, but a move like that might actually result in an investigation.

interesting match-ups in the knock-out round so far, in that the remaining sides have had weaknesses exposed. brazil seem to have the cleanest slate with neymar out. germany have to be wondering where the brazilians will mount their attack. in this match, i have to tip the germans, hoping that they don't park the bus and pray for counterattacks.

Respect to Germany. I can't believe I'm seeing this display of attacking ball from the Germans.

Brazil were shambolic. They gave up completely and fully. Capitulation.

No disrespect intended but the Aussies and Americans showed far more grit and determination with lesser resources to hand in the
qualifying rounds than Brazil showed then or indeed tonight.

Chile or Columbia deserved to be in the semi's rather than Brazil.

Germany are impressive but tonights score flatters them because Brazil were abject.

In the later minutes of the second half brasil did give up the game. Prior to that the side tried to mount some sort of counter to the onslaught. What truly surprised is how impotent they were in that effort. Long balls forward with no hope of connecting to the forward lines and no ability to get through the German midfield, the brasilians/scolari were without an answer. Further, from the first goal to the fifth Germany came forward with such confidence that after the third the selecao's back line looked shell shocked. Germany could easily have scored two and parked the bus as was their wont only a tourney or three ago, but this squad looked to be sending a message. Like I stated after the draw, Germany should have frightened because they looked hungry. All for naught if they don't win Sunday, but the German football association the bundesliga and their emphasis on homegrown talent competing at high levels makes me think the core of this squad could lift consecutive trophies.
