    I just registered and this is my first post

    I am looking for full length biking tights for cool spring days or summer rides after the sun goes down.

    I lived in upstate, NY so the weather is moody and where I live there are hills/small mountains it can get cold on downhills in the shade.

    The only "problem" is that I have a short inseam of 28.5" so normal tights often end up at the bottom of my foot.

    I am a male but open to women's tights if they were somehow shorter.

    I mean is a black tight a black tight or are ALL women's tights fitted differently from men's in the crotch/seat.

    And I don't want padded tights.

    Thanks for any help/links experiences.

    (I DID do a search here and it was a little fruitless and very overwhelming)

    Unless you want the pad and the built-in suspenders, there's not much difference between long cycling tights and long running tights. Although some may show saddle wear faster. You can even try dance or gymnastics gear. Dance gear tends to be decidedly less hard wearing though. Running and dance tights are available in a 3/4 version, which should solve your problem. But will leave a gap to you socks. Or use short cycling tights and separate leg warmers. Overlapping them a bit more and you're done.

    Thanks. I do have some cotton bodybuilding tights actually from bodyphysiqueware that actually fit perfectly but they are cotton which is "okay" when its dry but not so good in damp/wet conditions.

    I will look into the 3/4 sizing options

    Also consider leg warmers. Perfect for moderate conditions, because you can take them off and put them in your jersey pocket when the day warms up.

    Can you give me a link to some of these? I've never heard of leg warmers.

    dabac, good link, lots of choices in legwarmers.. I've put them on my online shopping list! I've used another UK source, Probikekit, for GP4000 tires and clothing and been happy with their quality and prices....and free shipping to the US.

    Breadbasket, suggest you check out www.probikekit.com as well. They have their own brand, PBK warmers for a good price. For a US source, try good old www.performancebike.com. I've bought lots of clothing from them over the years, using their arm and leg warmers now.

    As far as best winter clothing though, you should probably take advice from the man from Sweden rather than a guy in Alabama.
