hey all. I was wondering if some of you could lend me some of yr opinions on forks. I ride mostly my 1998 Schwinn Moab frame which is a tank, but has become my ol' faithful on some grinding trails. Anyway, the time has come(as well as the dough in my wallet) to at least upgrade the suspension. Right now I'm presently using some 1998 Rock Shox Hydracoil XC suspension. They work great, but I can notice at time that they just aren't as smooth as they used to be. I think its time for an upgrade.
I read the monthly mags, look at sites etc. but to me, its the people out on the trails I want to know what they think so I pose to all of you...what do you people out there think? I mostly ride XC trails. Some urban riding. Basically I'm looking for a suspension fork that is as hardy as my hardtail is. Thanks in advance.

Marzocchi makes the smoothest and most rock solid forks. It's a beautiful thing when "buttery" and "bomb-proof" are said about the same bike part. I don't know why, but my wife does NOT like being called "buttery and bomb-proof."

A nice coil-n-oil Marzocchi. Get a 2002 or 2003 close out from one of the big online places. Your wallet will thank you, and joining the Bomberhood has extra perks which our friendly Carla will fill you in on as soon as it's installed.

thanks all. Yes, Marzocchi makes some nice forks indeed. I think actually supergo or speedgoat or cambria has a nice fork for under 300 so that might be the choice, although...I am itching for a new ride...haha.
