  1. I have a Blackburn trainer that I use often when it's raining here how can I tell how fast I am going or if the speed is right or close to what it says.

  2. Do you have a Speed Sensor on your bike, like an ANT+ or Bluetooth one that connects to a head unit?

With a Spoke Magnet and a Pedal Magnet you will be able to tell your speed and cadence from this. It will be correct/accurate. Whether you can sustain that number on a flat/hill or downhill depends on how tough you set it to.

  3. Yea I have a spoke magnet. But say if I go 25 miles an hour on there for an hour what would that be with wind conditions?

  4. Does the turbo have a variable position lever at all. For example my one tacx booster has 10 resistance levels. Level 2 is on a FLAT FLAT with no wind maybe even a slight tailwind from then it sort of jumps to level 3 which is say was 1-2% gradient. I was provided with a graph of resistance position vs speed and what that relates to in watts. If you have a similar graph then it will tell you a lot. I'd say 25mph for an hour doesn't equate to a flat though unless of course you zip about with an average speed of 22-25

  5. It is a black burn track stand mag 3. 3 different levels I lost the box to it

  6. http://www.blackburndesign.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/970x970/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/b/b/bb_resistancechart_tm3_v1_1.jpg Looks to be a rough guide For me on a hilly ride I'll sustain 210 watts for approx 17mph average speed. I'd say you're average rolling roads will equate to 16mph at 180-200watts that's very rough though maybe some others could comment here but I don't think on resistance level 2 at 25mph you are looking at much more than 15mph in the real world. IMHO of course

  7. nice that chart is a great find.

  8. Is that for a low gear or high gear when I ride on it I use my highest gear possible.

If you're using your highest gear whenever you ride on it, chances are you need to increase the resistance of the trainer.

  10. Well when I'm sprinting I do and some other intervals. But how would I increase the restiance on the trainer I don't have much money.
