  1. Hi everybody, I am a newbie here and have found this bit of equipment in my shed and wonder if anybody has any thoughts/info on it? It is Campagnolo and quite old but never used.

  2. Incredible find ... I believe that the vintage of the front derailleur is circa 1953.

Wow, I had no idea it would be 60 years old, it is in perfect condition.

BTW. I do not know how much the particular front derailleur would be valued at, but it would certainly be worth a lot ...

    • not enough to pay for your retirement, but ...
    • I've got to believe that there weren't too many made ... I've got to believe that the production run was less than 500
    • maybe, closer to 100 units

[*] so, the particular Campagnolo front derailleur begins as being relatively rare in any condition ...
[*] and, in its pristine condition, I would guess that a collector (yes, there are such things of Campagnolo components) might pay MORE THAN $1000 +/- for it ...

    • but possibly, a lot more!?! I would bet on the latter, BTW

Even the original box, if you still have it, has value for collectors (!) ...

    • and, the box/inserts/etc. would amplify the value when paired with the derailleur ...
  5. Thank you very much for the info Alfeng, a great surprise!
