usually i get in a few weeks of really hard interval training before i meet up with the group hammer rides, but this year i havent.i wanted to, but terrible weekend weather kept me in, or just riding miles with a ton of clothes on. its nice to be strong enough to go out for 80 miles in windy cold conditions and get it done in 4 hours.. and those 20 minute sessions on the trainer are tough training too, but in the real world, like the weekday hard hammer club/open rides, you get to see first hand who rides miles and who rides intervals. after a few miles it was 31mph in a slight cross wind. it hurt so bad i couldnt keep up.. so embarassed, guys i normally drop dropped me after 1 hard fast mile.. i got months of long hard rides in my legs and 20 and 10 minute trainertempo rides in, but its time to do those 1-2-3-4-5 minute balls to the wall hard intervals. gotta hurt these guys. just shows that all the miles and hard long rides do nothing for leg speed and hammering in the 53x14 when these past 5 months have been in the 39x16.... wanna keep up, gotta start traing fast..here come the 1-2-3-4-5 minute hard intervals.. i figure in a few weeks i'll be able to hang.. then hurt them..wanna be good at riding 20mph for 4 hours, do that. dont want to get dropped on club rides, do intervals and train fast..

Like the post but thought maybe it should go into a diary instead of a forum. I commend the thoughts and let me know how it all ends once you get the hard intervals in.
