Yep especially in the cold weather.
It's like the "retreat from Moscow" in my case

It's a difficult one for me because I sweat heavily so too many layers isn't a solution either.

I therefore have no choice but to grin and bear it so to speak.

3. When your bits get cold, just stop and rub them for a bit. Rubbing them faster will generate more heat and get you back on the bike more quickly. Be careful though, success with this procedure tends to result in riders stopping to warm the bits up more often.

4. After a near frostbite experience, I stuff a towel or sock in front of my unmentionables under my tights. It works well and impresses the ladies out on the road - well... I think it would impress the ladies, there are none this time of year.

5. I think you're on to a new product. It's the amazing new:

Captain Picard Fleece lined condoms for the winter cyclist! Neoprene on the outside keeps the biting chill of winter wind from whipping your "little soldier" into a hasty retreat! The soft, warm fleece interior snuggles and comforts the poor little guy, too!

Available in LBS everywhere!

6. Just wear a merkin. They tend to be windproof, and as a bonus they hide unsightly sores.

7. Facepalm, should not have searched that term at work.

9. How drastically do the size and the temperature correlate. Maybe someone should do some measurements and come up with a chart.

10. And what comes to this merkin thing, my lord. Didn't know these even existed. Back in the day women in Finland used shingles of wood to protect their genitalia in sauna, they were called pillunpäre which literally means a shingle for pus**.

11. never, i can remember chilling and pain in the fingers, hands and toes, only

12. This has only happened to me once during an extremely cold winter day. I guess, if I had worn a second pair of undies it would have resolved the issue. However, this is something that I'm not accustomed to doing as it doesn't get overly cold where I live. I feel for those guys that are riding in colder climates as this can certainly be an uncomfortable experience.

13. I can't really say I've experienced this at all in the years I've been riding bikes. If it has then I've not really paid much attention to it...

I've been out on my bike when we had quite a severe winter in the UK many years back and for all the time I was out I didn't get too cold anywhere in particular to be honest.

14. I'd say a small coat could help there? 😄

15. Ride a tandem. A little reach around always helps

16. I think you may be doing something that is restricting blood flow to your penis. Or something somewhere is blocking blood flow there. Maybe sitting on the wrong kind of seat, or some other issue. I suggest talking to a doctor practicing sports medicine about this. Maybe have a professional bike fit done. Perhaps you need to change the bike seat? I'd start with a good sports medicine doctor to rule out a physical problem.

Thanks a ton

I have a feeling you would need to keep a watch out for law enforcement though 😉

18. I just can't take the OP seriously on this one. A few of you tried but I really think we are all troll bait on this one.

19. I do not go out when it is freezing out there. Maybe a thermal underwear will help a bit. It made me laugh reading about the comment on rubbing well just do not let other people see you do it.

20. Sometimes I also experience this and have an added boner as well 😄 But when I wear thick underwear and pants, it usually works for me and it feels warm in there. Maybe you could try thicker ones and it might work. I sometimes want to try and bring a heating bag and when the numbing starts, I can just place it near my crotch, which could work. I’ll have to try it soon and see the results :P 😄 🙂
