In mid October, I was booked on a flight from Chicago to London that was seriously delayed. By chance, the European Court of Justice has since then ruled that in such situations the airline must pay a considerable amount of compensation to passengers.
After we landed, I got talking to a young American cyclist, probably from the Chicago area, who was travelling with his bike, a new, blue, single-gear Dawes. His name was Mike and he intended travelling on to Amsterdam.
