I bought this bike from a co-worker recently. I bought it with the intention of building my first fixed gear road bike.
I purchased a Weinnman 27 inch wheel from Harris Cyclery along with a 14 tooth track cog and lock ring. The rear hub is Origin 8. I reused the stock crank. I just took off the big ring and attached the small ring with bmx style bolts. I took off the rear brake, shifters, cables, and derailleurs. New tubes, tires, handle bar tape, pedals, and front brake pads were installed. I also replaced the seat with one I had laying around.

I plan to use this for occasional weekend riding and commuting to work. I personally like the dings and marks on the frame. It shows that it's a vintage bike with a few modern parts. I'm also not a fan of the bright and crazy colors on some fixed gear bikes, so I kept the stock color. This bike fits nicely in the garage with my single speed Trek mountain bike and my Trek 5000 road bike. I just hope my two made in Wisconsin bikes will get along with and welcome this Frenchie.
