So I just bought a pair of Nashbar SPD Clipless Pedals and was wondering if these pedals are designed for road or MTB. If the are MTB pedals, will these still work on a road bike with standard SPD cleats? I'm new to the world of clipless pedals, so I'm wanting to try these out before I move into something better.

SPD is a mountain bike design and your picture shows a MTB pedal model...they were designed to work well with dirt/mud fouled cleats and pedals.
That said, MANY folks use them as dedicated road pedals with no issues what so ever.
Also, there are road pedals on the market that are designed to use the SPD cleat.

Awesome! Thanks for the response! My shoes, which are Pearl iZUMi Select road shoes, are compatible with SPD and Look cleats. So I'm guessing (hoping) I shouldn't have any problems with cleat/pedal compatibility here.
