I'm new to biking and just picked up my new mountain bike yesterday. I'm trying to find a trunk/hatch type bike carrier that would also fit the tailgate of a pickup truck. I have a truck and my wife has a sedan but she'll be replacing it with an SUV within the next year (not sure which model yet).
My truck is a 2006 Tacoma with adjustable bedrail attachments so I would think that most any strap secured bike carrier would be able to securely mount to the tailgate. Does anyone know of a trunk/hatch carrier that will work on a tailgate too? I want to have one carrier than we can swap between our vehicles and don't want to use the hitch receiver on my truck. Any help would be appreciated.
