  1. whats wrong with some underarmor. its cheap and doesnt it do the same thing ? im a newbie cyclist so i honestly dont know . i just rock underarmor top and bottom and a pair of gyms shorts so all the chicks dont try to stop me to get my number. i duno it works for me so far maybe ill upgrade if i find out there are real advantages.

  2. Nothing wrong with it as a base layer IMO, but keep in mind that UA bottoms don't have any padding to cushion your [censored] on long rides...

Yeah, that makes shorts worth it.

Underarmor vs a jersey is personal preference; I used to do underarmor but the cooling factor with a zipper and the convenience of the pockets is worth a few extra $$$. It isn't as if jerseys HAVE to be super-expensive, I've got 5 and think the most expensive was about $30.

Yep, I've got some UA I use as base layer when I'm working outside in the winter. I like it...

  5. I was the same way as you when I started cycling. First I just went out in regular shorts, t-shirt (on my old $20 Jamis that I got on a yard sale, great bike btw). Then I got some padded undershorts, but still wore regular shorts on top in fear of being seen. That lasted about 2 rides, before I started to care more about riding than looks, realized that it was way better just in some lycra shorts, and like Chavez, got a jersey (Canari) for $27 I think.

But in my case, I really got addicted to and obsessed with cycling, spending over $3K within one year.

the only thing about the spandex underarmour top is that it doesnt breathe as good as a real cycling jersey. its all a matter of what you like but try teamfastgear.com for shorts (with the pad) and jerseys they have good deals and amazing customer service. and quit wearing gym shorts man up and show off those massive thighs

Maybe your first post shouldn't be about trying to lure cyclists into your business. From your post, there's no reason for anyone to contact you. You give no details, no history, nada. What makes your product so special?

  9. Two staples in my bike kit are long-sleeve and sleeveless UA compression fit base layer tops. When temps drop below 40*F, the long sleeve and a cycling vest (windstopper or thermal) is good to go down into the mid/high 20s. Keeps the core warn without overheating. When temps climb over 80*F, the sleeveless compression or a sleeveless jersey with mesh back is all I can wear without overheating. One benefit to the compression fit is that it prevents fabric flutter from messing with my HR strap when I first stat up (or even mid ride when too cold to keep contacts wet). .

Do get yourself some good cycling shorts/bibs though - makes life much more pleasant. .

  10. Biking clothing has added features to help improve comfort and convenience. Bicycle jerseys can have rear pockets to hold small items. Front zippers are helpful to increase ventilation as needed. Some bicycle jerseys have mesh panels to help improve ventilation as well. Padded bike shorts make a big difference for comfort and wear on long rides. As mentioned above bib shorts are nice since you don't have an elastic waist band binding on your waistline. This provides much comfort. You don't need biking specific clothing. The added comforts and conveniences are nice though.

  11. I just bought a pair of Pearl Izumi Attack shorts today. What a difference they make. The are comfortable, stay in place, protect my rear, and don't flap in the wind like normal shorts. I'll never go back.

  12. I often joke, that: It should be against the law for an old fat man [like myself] to be seen in public in cycling shorts. But since it isn't I am wearing them... they make that big a difference over gym shorts. Cycling jerseys can be found as cheap as $15, and the only way [I know of] to get those nifty rear pockets. Then all you need is a zip-lock baggy to hold [sweat and rain proof] a few bucks and a cell phone. Those elastic tensioned rear pocket securely keep your stuff safe and handy while you ride.

Today, you become a man. Or at least a non-Fred.
