18 inch ROAD bike will fit a person with about a 27" inseam. A 18" mountain bike however will fit a person with about a 33" inseam. So it depends on your inseam. But I think for the first time buyer you should check out a local bike shop so you can figure out what size bike would best suit you depending if road or MTB.

Is there a reason you're wanting two bikes instead of getting one better bike?

The 2 bikes are just 2 I selected. My plan is to get one bike for myself. Good advice, we have a local bike shop that does just bikes not like the big box stores that I will check out and do some fitting and test rides. Thanks for posting back, appreciate that.

Your welcome. I know there's the big thing about single speed bikes today, but you have to determine how much and how far you'll be riding and whether or not there's lots of hills in the area you'll be riding. If you plan on doing a lot of riding and have a variety of terrain to ride in I would get the Raleigh, it would serve more purposes for you as time goes on and you start riding more.

Just something consider.
