  1. Hi,

I'm wanting to Tour Italy from South to north but am having trouble with the route planning. Im on a pretty tight budget so dont really want to purchase an expensive GPS navigation system.

I've done a bit of touring around my home country (New Zealand) but have just used a map and winged it. Other than that i'm a complete amateur on other countries roads. Because of this I want to plan the route well so I dont end up on motorways or other roads i'm not supposed to be on.

Anyone have any advice on route planning, navigation systems or cycling through Italy in general? Or if anyone has just used maps, what maps did you use and where did you find them??

Any info would be much appreciated

    Cheers

  2. some poster here recommended mapmyride.commapmyride.com

i haven't got experience on that one so i cannot give you detailed advice, it seems you need to register, for free, the website looks certainly very nice,
