  1. In the past, when I've made bread in the ABM, I've used yeast out of jar. We had ran out and when I
started looking in the grocery stores around here, I couldn't find any jars--only the packets. Can
one use a packet of yeast for ABM bread and it still turn out ok?

There are 2-1/4 tsps of yeast per individual packet. Use an equivalent amount that your recipe calls
for, just be sure that it is regular or rapid rise, as the recipe mentions.

If you mean the easy bake yeast that you put into the machine dry, then yes. I've never used
anything else. You will need to use less than you would for the yeast that needs to be rehydrated
    for the same result.

25g fresh yeast=15g dried active yeast=7g easy bake yeast.

You can buy a kilogram (2.2 lbs) of active dry yeast at Costco for about 5 bucks. The envelopes are
really expensive, compared to that. I remember buying the same container at a health food store, so
if no Costco you can look for one of them.

I just store it in my freezer, sealed.

I ended up following Boron's suggestion and just opened a packet. I'm at my parents in West Ky right
now, and there is no Costco anywhere near here to my knowledge. The only time bread ever gets made
in the ABM is if I'm home, but I may get a package of yeast at Costco (in CA) right before the next
time I come home to visit...
