Riding through the French Alps- Off-road of course

Have any of you ever ridden sections of the French Alps? I'm looking for routes around the Tarentaise Valley, Vanoise National Park, or Beaufortain. (Appologies if no one knows where these places are.) I am looking for good refuges to stay at and routes with around 50/50 up and down. Help! cheers
