Hey I'm new to cycling and I'm stuck between getting a trek 1.1 or a giant defy 3 they are almost the same component wise but wanted some opinions between the two.. Anyone have ideas

Trek and Giant are both make excellent bikes. I haven't heard that either company had had any problems with the bikes that you have listed. The bikes are nearly identical except for one having a triple crankset and the other having a compact crankset but a cassette that does not really compliment a compact crankset. I suggest that you test ride both of them and pick the one that you like best. Plan your test ride route to include a hill so that you can feel the difference between the triple and the compact cranksets.

Thank you that's what I needed to know cause it seems when I try to talk to a bike shop they always favor towards what that shop is selling
