My cycling shoes got thoroughly waterlogged on Weds. I took the insoles out and propped them up, but now It's Saturday and the shoes are still wet, and now they are mildewy too, yuck. I wiped them out with some bleach and put them in the oven at the lowest temperature, but these shoes will never be the same. What do you do when you come home with soaked shoes?

Get a fan on them--cool air is best. Warm air only encourages mildew growth.
Airflow, airflow, airflow.

I got mine completely soaked last summer and I took the insoles out, dried them out with a towel as much as I could, and then put them upside down on an air conditioner vent.
They were completely dry the next day, and other than looking a bit cleaner , they were exactly the same as before they got soaked.

As noted, air flow is important for drying the shoes/(anything!) ...
Loosely crumpled newspaper stuffed inside the shoes will facilitate wicking water away from the inside of the shoes.
