Avenir AV-100 help needed

I am not familiar with the AV-100 but if it is like most cyclo-computers, there will be one of three ways to get into the settings mode of the unit.

1. If there are two buttons, one will change from one function to another. Push the other button for 15 seconds and the digits will begin to blink. Enter the digits 1 - 9 with the button that changes from one funtion to another. Move from one digit to another, or to another funtion to be set by pressing the other button.

2. Push both buttons at the same time and hold them for 15 secondsand the digits will begin to blink. Enter the digits 1 - 9 with the button that changes from one funtion to another. Move from one digit to another, or to another funtion to be set by pressing the other button.

3. There will be one or two recessed buttons on the back of the unit. You will need something like a toothpick to push these buttons. One will put you into the setting mode and move you from function to function. If there is a second button, you will use it to enter digits 1 - 9. If there is no second button, the button on the face of the unit will be used to enter digits 1 - 9.

Some very old units have a button marked "Set" but if yours had this, you probably wouldn't be asking this question.

You will need to recalibrate it for your wheel size. To do this, measure the diameter of the wheel in centimeters and enter that into your computer in the correct screen when you are setting it.

All in all, it may be easier for you to get a new computerand follow their directions. You can get a cheap but functional computer for $12.00 at Wal-Mart, or you can go to your local bike shop and get a much better computer for whatever you want to spend.

A good quality wired computer can be found in the range of $25.00 to $35.00, and a wireless will run about double that price.

Hello, this may be a long shot, but what the heck.

I have this exact model, but I am missing the sensor that detects the magnet on the wheel. I am trying to find out where I can get a replacement or if I can get it at radio shack for example. Wikipedia says it could either be a "Hall pass sensor" or a "reed switch." Having a picture of what it actually looks like may help tremendously. I seriously doubt that you could source that part individually. These units are CHEAP and it would probably be much more cost effective for you to just buy a new computer than to spend a couple of days trying to find a HP Sensor that would work with your unit.
