I purchase a Specialized Allez Elite last summer as my first road bike - love it! During the good weather I was riding 100 -130 miles / week. I would like to upgrade to a clipless pedal system and am seeking advice. I purchased a pair of BG Comp Carbon Road Shoes from the Specialized website last week - great deal! and want to purchase clipless pedals this week. The local bike shops I've spoken to have recommended Shimano 105 or Look Keo Classics. As it is my first clipless experience, I don't want anything too difficult to get out of but I also don't want to feel like upgrading in 3 months from now. Thoughts?

Those are both very good pedal systems and I would bet that there are about an equal number of people on here using Look Keo's and Shimano SPD-SL's.
I have Shimano Ultegra SPD-SL's on one of my bikes and Shimano 105 SPD-SL's on the other. I really like them and they have always performed flawlessly, but they are the only clipless pedals I've owned so I can't say they are any better than Look pedals.

I use Look Keo Easy pedals and love them. Very easy to get in and out. They come with factory preset tension that is just right for the beginner to intermediate rider. I have been using these for 3 to 4 years average 4000 miles/year. I have never had an issue of pulling out while cranking up hills or getting back in when stopped in traffic.
