Hi guys,
I rode mountain bikes for years (never was any good, but had a blast) and stopped riding when I nearly broke my back shorting a jump on a trail, over the handlebars, and landed in a way that my riding partner thought a call to 9-1-1 was in order. Taco'ed my front wheel but managed to carry it home with only a small limp.
Needless to say, I got my Haro fixed up but never got back into trail riding. I bought a Harley and enjoyed the wind in my face that way, but I've decided it's time to get back into shape, and train for a triathlon with my buddy. My company's passing out a decent bonus this year so I treated myself to a Trek 1.1 which I'm picking up middle of this week.
Picked up the bike, new helmet, shorts, and some tools in a saddlebag for a decent price from a local shop, looking forward to getting out on the road.
What else do I need to pick up to enjoy the rides? I've got a riding partner that will kick my butt into shape, and a nice new bike.
Any ideas?
