Hi Guys,
I am training to do my first "tour". I live on the island of Trinidad in the West Indies and I am planning to cycle around the island. The coastline is about 400 miles, however there is at least one unpassable section of coast that will force me to go back on myself in order to complete the trip. Not sure what that will add to the total distance and mapping of the island in terms of distances is practically unheard of except for the highways. So this could be a 600 mile or more ride I'm sure.
Therefore what sort of equipment should I plan for the trip. Its early days but I want to do the research now. My aim would be to stay in guest houses/ small hotels, but there may be the need to camp out, so I may need a tent (I should be doing this with at least one companion). What would we need in terms of racks and panniers? What spares for the bike? (how many tubes? should I take a tyre? how much clothing to take etc). Input from you experienced guys would be really helpful.
Do you carry any "protection"?
Thanks,
Dan
Oh I would most likely be doing this trip on my Fuji SL road bike. I also have a nevada 1.0 MB, but its most likely that my companion would be riding that.
