  1. I have a problem in the winter that my toes overlap and cause pain.My shoes are plenty loose but still occures.Sometimes they will turn a purple color but return to normal when warmed up.Any help?

  2. If your toes overlap it sounds like your shoes are to narrow.
Have you worn these shoes before?
I am guessing that you are now wearing thick socks and the over crowding is causing your problem. Even if the straps or laces are loose the shoes might be to narrow.
let me know as I have some ideas but need more information.

  3. same thickness as summer socks but a merino wool version.

  4. If your feet were OK in the summer and now with different sock they are not it sounds like overcrowding from a thicker sock. Unless you are young and still growing then you might have outgrown the shoes. You might want to try a bootie or shoe cover and your summer socks. For winter riding you do not want to crowd your feet, it will make them colder. In winter I always wear my shoes a little bit looser than the summer.

  5. I would try wider shoes or thiner socks or both. The width of shoes varies a lot between brands.
