Bought a Specialized Sectaur Sport. Been great but a couple of times recently I have popped the chain shifting into low gear. Did not happen for the first several hundred miles. But twice in my last 3 rides. Any ideas? I read about some cheap device in Bicycling but curious as to thoughts here.

What, exactly, do you mean by "popped"?
If the chain has shifted entirely off the inner or outer chainring in front or off the inner or outer cogf in back, then the high or low adjustment screw need adjustment. Suggest you take a read of the excellent Park Tools website.
