Hi everybody,
I just relocated across the country and was unable to find a way to bring my bike (it's been all trouble anyway, so I wanted to get a new one). I used to ride a Raleigh Passage 2.0, and it worked fine for a couple of years, but the back axle constantly broke. It was a cheap bike and thus had free wheels. I'm really looking at buying a road or hybrid with cassette wheels.
I don't know much about bikes, which is probably already apparent. I used to do about 20 mile rides for pleasure, and I'm hoping to get back into that. I need a bike that will get me to and from class and that I can take out for fun rides.
The only problem is that I'm 6'7" and on a budget. I realize that getting a bike that truly fits me right is likely out of the question, as I can't afford a custom bike, but I hear some brands have standard production up to about 25in, like Trek.
I have very long legs and have been told I should be riding a 66cm or so frame, possibly larger, but I couldn't tell you for sure.
My question is, does anyone know an affordable (Somewhere around $600) bike I may be able to buy that can hold my weight (225lb), will at least ALMOST fit me, and will be good for my purposes?
Thanks so much!
Steve
P.S. - If you need any more information, I'd be glad to provide it, but as I am new to this, I don't know exactly what is necessary.
