hi, I am going to start road cycling. my question is what bike is good? I ride a cheapy mountain bike just now. but for health reasons etc etc I want to start riding seriously. I am a student so funds are tight at the moment so i am looking at the £400-£500 mark. I was looking at the shimano allez in my local shop "Irvine cycles". Any info much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You will get 1000 different responses here regarding what bike is "good." Chances are that if you buy it from a reputable bike shop, the bike will be "good". That being said, the bike that is good for you will fit like a glove and will just feel
"right" when you get on it.Components: Since you are just starting out, you might not care too much about components. However, ride for a while and that might change 😎 So, I recommend going with at least shimano 105, pretty much anything campy, or SRAM rival (and up).
